I am so blessed because I grew up in a Christian family. As a child, I regularly attended Sunday school and other church activities. When I was in high school I got saved and became a Christian like my parents. I continued to be very active in church, always attending choir and youth camps, but for some reason I did not find being a Christian enjoyable. I wouldn’t even read my Bible! I was not serious with my studies, and I seemed to have no direction in life. Because of this, I seemed to have lost the confidence of my parents.
When our family business enterprise began to falter, I had to stop going to school for financial reasons. I began to worry about what my friends would say. I had to teach myself to avoid going out needlessly with them, because we didn’t have enough money. I learned to be content to stay at home and to go to church on Sunday. I began to be drawn closer to God, and He began to mold me into a better person through His word.
With the help of our pastor I was able to get a job as a liaison officer in the city government. I slowly regained my parents’ trust. Right now I find myself focusing on my personal relationship with God, and I find myself spending more time talking to Him, reading His word, and attending church activities. I have also been conducting the choir in my church.
Jesus changed my life when I gave up everything to Him. I learned that if I just trust Him, I don’t have to worry about anything because “He’s got the whole thing in His hands”!
